Exodus From Nauvoo
One February 4, 1846 members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints began to leave Nauvoo, headed towards the Salt Lake valley and freedom from religious persecution. Each year that exodus is commemorated here in Nauvoo. We had the privilege of chairing this year's commemoration committee. It was a wonderful experience assigning our fellow missionaries various tasks and then having them magnify that assignment and do much more than required or expected. The commemoration could not have gone better.
About 400 showed up to share in the experience.

Our teamsters stepped up to the plate with every wagon in the place. Absolutely beautiful horses and wagons.
Our baby oxen and their little wagon. They're learning how to work as a team.
