Hanging Ropes
When we took over as Family Living Center Site Coordinators we had about 50 rope boxes stored on top of the cabinets in our backroom. I took them all down and found that over half of them were empty. They were in poor shape having obviously been used to store rope for a few years. Even most of the full boxes were falling apart. I discarded the old boxes and we thought about the best way to store the 2,500 ropes we have to make this winter to be prepared for summer, 2019.
This is what we decided to do. No surprise to any of you that it was Sister Childers' idea. There are roughly 100 ropes per hanging loop. Now we can tell at a glance what we have in storage. This picture shows about 900 ropes. We have 1700 in storage...only 800 more to make...at ten a day, six days a week that is three or four months of rope making.
