Nauvoo On The Road
We have a thing in Nauvoo called Nauvoo On The Road. It's a large trailer filled with a bunch of awnings and pioneer things that we take to various festivals within a two or three hour radius. They have the Corn Festival, the Watermelon Festival, a million Harvest Festivals and lots of tractors everywhere. The trailer has pioneer games for the kids and a rope making machine. The first time we went we made about 70 ropes for kids. Actually, we helped the kids use the machine to make ropes. There is also a Family History display and we can gather info from guests and help them get started on their family history. Here's some pictures from our NOTR experiences.
The mid-west folks are REALLY into tractors. At the "Thresher Days" festival I bet there were 1,000 tractors there.
This "speeder" was on a track about a mile long with a trestle and crossing. Very cool.
Making rope with Elder Christensen, the head NOTR missionary. I bet I've made over 500 ropes so far.
